SupaImage Examples(TM)

Built for Mac OS-X

Examples:

Shown below are a pair of partial images. The original images were taken with a mobile phone camera at 640x480 resolution and processed with SupaImage V2.0. Although they look very similar, these are cropped segments of the images used to here to show the improvements obtained with SupaImage. The original images differ slightly in position, orientation and lighting - plus the wind moved the flowers between the shots.
Note the compression noise around the edges of the yellow flower in the botton right corner, and the grid effect caused by the high compression on the green stems.
Note: Click on the images to see the original full images as used and produced by SupaImage. (examples used here are slightly compressed) Warning - these are up to 900KB each as they are uncompressed.

Frame 2 segment

The next image (below) is taken from the result of SupaImage enhancing the full photos without increasing the resolution.
Note how the two compression artifacts mentioned above have been reduced.

Enhanced with no resolution increase

The next image (below) is taken from the result of SupaImage enhancing the full photos AND increasing the resolution.
Note how the two compression artifacts mentioned above have been reduced.

Enhanced with increased resolution

Compare this to simply increasing the resolution and interpolating (below). (This image is actually the result from SupaImage without the enhancements applied). See the massive reduction in compression noise and block effects in the enhanced image (above).

Frame 2 Enlarged and Interpolated

Further - compare with an enlarged version of the origin frame 2 (enlarged by your browser). This shows the benefits achieved simply from the unique SupaImage interpolation algorith. Note there is no inter-pixel smoothing being done here.

The above images and notes refer to the V2 product.
